I was work as a Financial Administrator at Pangolin Advisory Management (PAM) in UAE. PAM is an agency who helping restaurant owner open the restaurant in Abu Dhabi. I was helping PAM to open one restaurant in Abu Dhabi for 3 months. I was helping them with general jobs range from HR to accounting work. I do payrolls for employees, and keeping the records of the salary’s payments. I help HR gathering the necessary documents like copies of employee’s passports, visas, and EID and sorted them into a shared Dropbox. I also learned to issue the UAE visa from the HR. I have done research about UAE F&B marketing especially local suppliers and their produces. Then I started to contact them and ask for their offer. For example, Baloney 8 is our interior designer for the new restaurant, after they became our supplier we built a great relationship and that like a bonus for us later. One thing I like about this job is to negotiate with the supplier for the best deal (cheapest, highest quality of the products). I gathering all the bills from the suppliers. I prepare the cheque and cash payment for suppliers to ensure that they get paid on time. I record all the payments and keep the bills and receipts in order. I was also handling the petty cash for the restaurant and make sure the restaurant has enough cash each day. I have done a petty cash report for the accounting manager and answering all the questions about the petty cash. I also issued the invoices to our client via Xero. I made sure PAM get paid on time so PAM doesn’t have a cash flow problem. I kept the invoices in order so PAM can track the payment from the client. Even I worked for PAM for a short period of time, I have learned a lot about the UAE market, employment laws, and how UAE systems are working. I enjoy working, getting to know new people and learning new things every day.
